Whoa, whoa, whoa!
Everything I thought I would say about the opener for season 2 just left my mind... Carl got shot?! It looked like Rick was taking the sighting of this big deer as the sign he requested. And then BAM! I was expecting the deer to be spooked, or maybe even a walker to grab the deer, but not this.
It would seem that I was correct in thinking Andrea was going to be pissed at Dale. Holy smokes, she really let him have it in front of the group. Add her troubles to Shane wanting to leave, and Andrea wanting to join him, and I'm left ready to see how this season plays out.
As for Sophia, I'm concerned. Two days of searching and they can't find her. I'm not liking that Carol is blaming Rick for Sophia running off. He saved her life by distracting the walkers, and then killing them with a big rock like a bawss. I was proud of Lori for defending her man and trying to get Carol to think rationally.
The church was weird. I expected people, not walkers. I'm proud of Carl for finding the Gerber knife kit, because it led to great killings of walkers.
Now I'm ready to start S2:E2, to see how Carl turns out after being shot, and to find out who the hell shot him! I plan to watch it some time this weekend.
Thanks for reading.
I'm catching up on The Walking Dead from the beginning. You've asked for my feedback, and here you have found it.

S1:E6 - Season Finale
It's been a couple of weeks since I watched the close of the first season. I was left with a bittersweet, victorious feeling for the survivors. I hoped, in my naivete, that Dr. Jenner would show them something magnificent... that they would find answers, a goal, and hope. They got some answers, but little else.
Before I comment on the greatest threat (the Walkers), I think there is a serious threat from within. Shane is losing his marbles. At first I thought he was just jealous that he lost his bedtime buddy... and I think he is still experiencing a little of that. More importantly, I am inferring that he's just super-jealous of the love and bonds between Rick and his family. Shane wants that, but he has no idea how to deal with the emotions that he's going through. Alcohol exacerbated the problem, and it almost got very nasty. I wonder if he'll get it under control in season 2, or if he'll go off the deep end, with it getting much worse before it gets any better.
I think Dale made a good move saving Andrea, but I know Andrea was going through an awful lot of pain since seeing her sister die, reanimate, and then killing her. That being said, I think Dale was foolhardy putting Andrea on the spot like that, effectively telling her that if he died, it would be her fault. I wonder if Andrea will put that together in her mind.
As the credits rolled, I was anxious to start season 2, and left incredibly curious as to what it was that Jenner whispered into Rick's ear. I think I have figured it out, though. It couldn't have been, "there is no cure". Jenner was working on it himself, so he wasn't at a point that he could make that assertion. That being said, the only other option I can imagine is him telling Rick that they are all afflicted with the disease/virus/etc. already, and that they only become the undead after death or being bitten.
I'm starting S2:E1 as soon as I publish. Thanks for reading.

S1:E5
Wow, oh, wow... this episode was a good one. Nothing particularly intense until the last 10 minutes, but I really enjoyed it.
I was very sad for Andrea still, having lost Amy. I really didn't like that she pulled a gun on Rick when he was going to attempt to reason with her. Seeing Amy awaken as a Walker, and then Andrea's apologies before killing her was unexpected.
I think the fellow's name is Morales, the guy who decided to leave with his family. I liked his character, so hearing that he was departing for Birmingham was bogus. I had thought that Jim, bitten in the previous attack, was going to turn and be an issue. At least he was left on his own with his dignity, to die where he wanted to be.
The CDC and the doctor... now this seems like a bucket of crazy just waiting to be spilled. I was pretty anxious when Rick was yelling at the door, and pleased and surprised that the doctor opened up.
Lastly, I want to bring up Shane. He is one conflicted individual... seeing him bring his weapon up on Rick as Rick was looking for the source of a noise in the forest was intense. I'm glad to see that Dale knows what's going on in Shane's head, even with Shane trying to play it off. He better get his head screwed on the right way, or he will become a danger to himself and the rest of the group.

S1:E4
Before the title rolls, we've got sisters fishing and bonding, and then old boy up on the hill... digging graves. Foreshadowing, or with some other purpose in mind?
While I don't like Merle, and have no idea how long he'll be on the show, I at least give him credit for being a bad ass. Killing two Walkers, one-handed is cool. Cauterizing your own arm stump with a hot iron? Where the hand was that you cut off yourself? That's hardcore.
Moving on... Jim is digging graves. Shane cuffs him. Sad story for Jim, living only because his family died. Back in Atlanta, I never would have suspected Mexicans! And Glen, noooooooo! Glen's my favorite character thus far. I know you readers know better than I do, but I hope Glen lives. He deserves it, especially after the guys at camp stripped his new car.
Okay, the Vatos. I figured Rick had bloodshed up his sleeve. I did not expect Guillermo's... er, Phillipe's abuela to show up and freeze the situation in the manner that she did. I am definitely frustrated with the Vatos; such a big front as big bad men, without even a moment for logical, rational discourse... especially when the threats turn out to have such softness behind them. Good on the Vatos for taking care of the elderly, but Rick was right; Guillermo is pretty damn stupid.
Suddenly, a van disappears! And we're running.
(I must interject my apologies. This has turned into a play-by-play; however, I find that if I don't do it this way, I might forget to give my thoughts on particular occurrences. Sound off if you don't like it. I may ignore you, but it'll be good to see you complain nonetheless.)
Fish fry - good. Jim is calm after recuperating from sun stroke - good. Dale paraphrasing about his watch - inspiring. Ed being sullen in his tent, and then awoken by a Walker - perfect!
Oh, shit. I was not expecting an attack of that magnitude. Whoa. Also, there seemed to be a lot of victims in the attack that weren't introduced in camp. I didn't realize there were that many token camp dwellers that were doomed to perish. I can't imagine being in Andrea's shoes, seeing Amy killed like that. Jim remembering his dream was creepy for them, I bet.
I wonder where the group will go from here. I assume they won't stay in the same spot. That would mean either going to Atlanta, or heading out of town. Atlanta has high risk, but potentially a high reward with potential supplies. Heading away seems low-to-medium risk, with about the same low-to-medium reward. Then there's Merle. He'll probably be back, which is good. The survivors will need a hand since they lost so many members in the attack.
S1:E5 tomorrow, I hope. Stay tuned!

Some of you have already commented on my feedback of the first few episodes. I'll recap here just to get it all in one place.
The first episode was enough to hook me. I was reminded of the "28 _____ Later" franchise when Rick woke up alone in the hospital. I think he adapted well, getting out of the hospital after seeing his first Walker, and then getting to his home to realize his family was gone.
Okay, we're into Atlanta and in a tank. Awesome. Rick and Glen working together, and then meeting the other team of survivors was fun to watch. I wasn't a fan of Merle from the start... racists aren't my kind of people.
Forgive me, because I forgot the order in which this happened, but seeing Shane and wouldn't you know it Rick's wife was funny to me. After I figured it out, it seemed corny to me, but I still think it's good for the story. Which leads me to Shane. I don't blame him for sleeping with what's-her-name. He thought his partner was dead, and from the first conversation I saw between Rick and Shane in the squad car, it wasn't like she was being that great of a wife anyways... like there was some adultery going on. Was it with Shane? I'll find out. Maybe it was nothing.
So we leave Merle. Good. We all make it back to camp. A walker is up the hill, that's scary. Ed (I think) punches his wife, and Shane whips that ass. Good. It's redeeming for Shane at this point. We meet the other Dixon brother... judgment to be determined. Overnight while Rick is reuniting with his wife, Shane is staring at the tent. I wonder what he's thinking.
Going back to Atlanta is more than I would have done for Merle. However, I'm a pushover, and would end up volunteering if prodded. Uh-oh! No trace of Merle... except for that hand.
So that's where I left off. I'm going to watch episode 4 now. The next feedback I post will be structured better, not so... bouncy.
