WHAT DID I JUST WATCH?!
It's crazy town! So many damned cliffhangers.
Okay, most importantly to me, I want to know who the Demon Hunter is. The cowl-wearing man/woman with two pet walkers chained behind them. Andrea will be the first to find out, and I am green with envy!
Shane got what was coming to him. Rick did what had to be done. At this point, it seems like no one else realizes that. I guess I'll know more once I start watching season 3. I hope Daryl is down with it.
The attack on the farm was intense. I knew we'd lose some, and I figured it would be some of the lesser characters. The teenage boy, the step-mom... I expected that. I'm still sad about Dale. I can already see how his absence is affecting the group's morality and sensitivities.
I'm not happy with Lori. Not at all. A few episodes ago she all but tells Rick to murder Shane to keep their family safe. Rick finally has to do it, and Carl shoots walker-Shane, and it's like Lori completely forgot about saying that she wanted it to happen.
I didn't expect Rick to let the cat out of the bag, what with them all being infected. I think he could have picked a better time, if at all.

S2:E12
Wow... so the next-to-last episode of the season was far out! I knew it was only a matter of time before Shane went off the deep end.
For just a tiny moment, I thought he was going to take Randall out into the woods and just murder him. I didn't see the plot that Shane had laid out. And was it really hard for him to accomplish his plans? He had almost everyone convinced, except for Rick. He even got Rick alone. He had Rick unarmed, and his own gun in his hands, pointed at Rick's face. For some reason, though, he let Rick talk, and that was his downfall.
I knew Rick had a plan; he was inching closer, he now had his gun out in his left hand. He attempted to get Shane's guard down and it worked. And that was that, with a knife into his chest, Shane perished. The anguish and agony that Rick must have been going through, I cannot imagine.
And then we have Carl. Yet again he's out of the damn house, but this time it was a good thing. I did think for a moment that he was blindly angry with Rick, and was going to shoot him. But! I knew better, didn't I? Walker-Shane is up and lunging. Carl pulls the trigger. The day is saved.
Except for that horde of walkers coming up the hill. Holy jeez. RUN!!!

Heartbreaking. I cannot imagine how the group will continue without Dale. He may not have always made the right decision, but I think he always had the group's best interests at heart. I'm glad it wasn't prolonged, and that Daryl had the fortitude to end Dale's suffering.
I hate it for Carl, too. He's got the one problem, always trying to get himself killed. I can't chastise him for having a boy's curiosity, but jeez. And now this second problem, being an indirect accessory to Dale being attacked and killed. It seems like Carl is having to grow up awfully fast, and he's got some darkness going on inside.
And as for Randall, I think he's still got potential to create a world of problems for the group. Hershel giving Glenn his watch? Classy.
I need a break after watching this one... ugh, I'm gonna miss Dale.

S2:E10
Rick and Shane had it out big time. Seeing them go to blows, and Shane attempt to kill Rick, was disheartening. Add walkers to the mix, and we were left with an intense episode.
The boy is a problem. I wonder how Rick is going to decide to deal with him after sleeping on what to do. As for Andrea's methods of determining whether or not Beth wanted to live or die, I can't say that I agree with the means, but the end was pretty justified.
I would like to see Lori and Andrea have a physical confrontation. I have no prediction on who would win.

Awesome episode. Lori makes it back due to Shane lying to her. Rick, Hershel, and Glenn are attacked by humans and walkers... and survive! And we've brought a prisoner back.
Daryl is angry. Lori has calmed down. Shane is still a big problem. Cliffhanger? Yeah... Lori straight up tells Rick that she wants him to murder Shane.
I know Glenn is scared/worried/etc., but he needs to man up and be there for Maggie. I hope he fixes it. Carl is still awesome, and he handled the "You're going to be a brother" situation wonderfully.

Rick is such a boss. He was all over the two guys that showed up at the bar. I'm willing to bet his judge of character was spot on; the two seemed shady from the start. Were they alone, though? I wonder if Rick killing Rene from True Blood and that fat dude is the last of their troubles in the bar. I blame Hershel.
Daryl hasn't gotten the praise he deserves. He went through a lot trying to find Sophia, and Carol seems to have given up. I think that give-up attitude is something that Daryl despises.
The Shane Volcano is still building. I guess that it's only a matter of time before it explodes. Add to it that Lori is now missing because of her wreck, and we have an interesting situation.
There's quite a few mini-plots going on right now. I'm interested to see how they turn out, especially the Dale-Shane fiasco.

Oh, wow... such an intense episode. The group finally finds Sophia, and it's the worst scenario - she's a walker that's been kept in the barn.
The whole episode was great. Shane letting his rage take control, leading to the confrontation with Dale in the swamp and the opening of the barn. Hershel being stubborn, even with Maggie attempting to reason with him. Carl growing up more, but showing a darker side that I can only assume is a result of the trauma of being shot mixed with having to live in a world with walkers.

There is so much that I wanted to say about this episode, but it was all blown away with the ridiculousness that was Andrea getting "in the zone" when shooting walkers in the housing development.
She put a bullet in one's head from less than 5 feet away, has some sort of zen moment, and then is a pro shot like Rick and Shane are (which is also baloney). Then, she's so chuffed that she grabs Shane by the loins and sleeps with him in the car.
Ridiculous.
I'll revisit the walkers in the barn, Maggie/Glenn, Shane/Dale (whoa!), and Hershel after the next episode. And Lori's confrontation with Rick about the attempted abortion.

Wow... an episode of crazy things.
I thought Daryl was dead. I knew he'd be fine against the two walkers, even with an arrow stuck in his side. I knew he'd be able to get up the hill and get out. When he was eating the squirrel, I knew immediately that the blood on his face was going to get him into trouble. And wouldn't you know it, Andrea shoots him.
This is the kind of stuff that happens when someone that has no training gets a weapon in their hands. Even with it being a time where the dead walk, even with Andrea's desire to practice firing a rifle, someone got hurt because she couldn't confirm that her target was really a walker. It's been said many times to not use firearms when stealthier means of killing walkers can be employed. I think Andrea's a cooking time bomb, and it's only a matter of time before her little bits of havoc turn into one giant explosion of devastation.
I'm beginning to dislike Hershel even more. I don't like his secretive attitude. The southern, good ole boy mentality is a poison, in real life and in TWD. And looky, looky... not only does he want people to leave, but he's got a barn full of live walkers!
I don't know how Maggie going to be able to keep Glenn quiet. I would think Glenn has the fortitude to know that he should tell Rick. Is the allure of sleeping with Maggie again the only thing that keeps Glenn's mouth shut? I can't wait to see.
Finally, I like the flashbacks at different portions during the season. The one in this episode flashed back to a highway when Carol, Ed and Sophia's car was near the one that Shane, Lori and Carl were traveling in. Atlanta was being bombarded by attack helicopters napalming the streets.
I'm pumped to see the next episode.

While this was more of a filler episode, I think some key things happened that are setting the stage for much bigger developments.
So, Glenn and Maggie with a mission to the pharmacy, in addition to having sex while there. It doesn't seem like Maggie wants anything major to happen with that, as she was awfully cold to him upon their return to Hershel's farm. And it's good to see that he was able to get the special item that Lori requested.
I knew what it was she was asking for the moment she handed Glen the note. I kind of had a feeling that she'd be pregnant, due to the drama that it would cause. I'm under the assumption that it's Shane's baby, not Rick's. I'll definitely be keeping track of this one!
The swimmer in the well was cool and a let down. I was pretty pumped for Glenn when he was pulled up from almost falling in, carrying the rope attached to the swimmer's neck. I actually said out loud, "like a boss!" when he handed Dale the rope.

Ho-lee shit...
I spent the episode gathering my thoughts on Rick and Lori. I was angry at Lori, and had sympathy for Rick. But Shane... whoa...
Shane was in a difficult position. He and Otis were in a bad spot, a real bad spot. Shane injured, Otis overweight and slow, both on their last rounds of ammunition. They both had a choice to make. Keep helping the other until the bitter end. Give up. Or murder. The ethics of Shane's choice could be discussed for ages. I would be willing to discuss those with any of you readers that care to comment on it.
I am not sure how to feel about Shane. On the one hand, it was deplorable. Where's the honor? Shouldn't he have fought til the end with Otis, even if it meant both of their deaths? What kind of world has it become when one murders another just to survive?
Well, it's a world where the undead walk. The choice to wound Otis, effectively murdering him by making him bait for the walkers, is the kind of choice most people couldn't make. I don't know if I could make it. I mean, I could... but I don't know if my brain would bring it up as an option in that situation. Obviously Shane made the best choice for his own survival. I wonder if Shane will continue down this dark road, or if he'll be able to reconcile in his own way. I was anxious to see Shane return. A good thing that came out of his return is Carl surviving the gunshot wound.
Back to Carl: I'm glad he came through. I knew he would, just from seeing teasers for future seasons' episodes. Still, I'm glad to see it ended the way it did, with Carl stabilizing. I hate Lori a little bit because she would suggest letting Carl die. I know she's his mother, but shouldn't he still be given a fighting chance? A chance to survive and grow up to be able to make that decision for himself? And Rick, Rick was awesome through it all. He fought through hell to get to his son, and he would continue to fight for him to live. It was evident that he was willing to give all of the blood in his body for his son to live. Commendable!
I'm glad to see the relationship between Andrea and Dale improving a bit, what with Dale returning her gun and admitting his folly. Carol is sad. We all are. Sophia missing stinks. Daryl... well, I just like Daryl more and more with each episode. I want to see more of Glenn and T-Dog.

This episode... ugh. Hit me right in the feels. Seeing Rick and Lori deal with Carl being shot is hard. I was hopeful for a tiny moment that Shane and Otis were going to be able to go out and get the supplies needed for surgery, but then I knew that it wasn't possible. I'm anxious to see how the two of them get out of the high school that has become their new home for the night.
It would seem that Sophia is long gone. I'm sure that she's somewhere important, but it doesn't look like any developments are being made on that front. If she died, I would think it wouldn't take three episodes to map out a supporting character's death. Carol is staying strong while they search for her girl, which is good.
Andrea still seems messed up in the head a little bit, but I see her sticking around. She's too strong to try and off herself again. T-Dog wasn't looking good, I was worried. Merle's drugs hopefully save the day.
Daryl hasn't done much lately, but he's quickly moving up the list of my favorite characters.
